considering joining the air national guard. Ive been told that I dont have to live in the state of the guard I join, for example, I live in Indianapolis IN, but the job I want is in Louisville KY,. I've been told by friends in the air guard that you can join in any state you want, but its your responsibility to get to your base for your weekends, but the online ANG person just told me that I have to join in the city and state that I live in...?? which is true?
You can join a unit in any City or State you'd like. Just contact that units recruiter and let them know what you want to do.
I drill about 7 hours from my home, but in the same state. Our chain of command is cool with that, becuase I'm always there. They have less patience for folks who join from a unit several hours away but then don't show iup because of transporation issues! This message has been edited. Last edited by: njterry,
