Is there anything to do around there?
Sorry, from South Carolina, so it is cold around Oct - Nov?
Thanks in advance!
There are barracks on the compound that aren't that bad. There are not usually a whole lot of people staying in them so it's pretty quiet. Not sure if you can have beer in barracks or not. If you have them take a look at your orders, it will say if Gov Lodging is available. If you need the number to lodging let me know and I can square you away.
As far as stuff to do, it depends on what you like. There are a couple of golf courses in the area. We also have the Kaity Trail, which runs along the river bluffs, it's good for bike riding or running. As far as bars, there isn't much in Jefferson City, Columbia is the place to go for that, big college town. But as always, if you are going to go out on the town to drink make sure you do it responsibly, have a sober driver because you will pass through security to get back onto the Post.
red4x4ranger hit the weather on the head. Missouri weather is very funny... You can go from frost in the morning, to 80 degrees in the afternoon, to snow that evening. Just prepare for all of the above.
If you have any further questions let me know.
