i am supposed to be leaving for Basic training on Aug 18th, and was going through until Jan 2009. I was wondering if they let u leave to go home for christmas or not? please let me know if anyone knows. im supposed to be going to fort jackson, then fort lee.

Yes you do get to go home for christmas but it will be on your dime in other words you have to pay for the airline ticket and also ask about doing hometown recruiting while your back on leave just have your recruiter sign the paper work you bring in and they won't charge you for your leave .

You will get to go home for christmas but as posted before you will have to pay for it on your own but check into the hometown recuiting. I would recomend grey hound because they are cheaper and it may take a while but grey hound has this thing that military can get round trip anywere for like $198 which i used when i went home on christmas xodous from fort lenardwood in 06. well drive on and stay safe and a HOOAH to ya
