My boyfriend is looking into the Guard and I was wondering if during his bootcamp and AIT, if we were married, would I have insurance? And then loose it after he goes traditional Guard.
How soon after bootcamp and AIT can he go or try to go Active Guard or Active Army?

To answer one of your questions you will have insurance while he is gone as long as your married when he gets done with basic and ait he can apply for the insurance which is something they just came out withfor the guard it will cost $253 dollars a month for a family and it is simmilar to tricare extra and standard if is better than nothing well and he can apply for Active guard positions normaly he will have to be at least a spc (e-4) well good luck with everything..

So is medical insurance for family not available while he is in Basic and AIT? Example, if I was expecting and need to pay for delivery.

Ok so during Basic and AIT - yes to Insurance and then when he is finished with training it will be 253 a month unless he goes active. Right?

yes that is correct he could also look for work as a ADSW (active duty special work) which I'm doing I have what the call longterm orders for 6 months it gives you all the same benifits as active duty I work for my recruiters in the office doing computer work and such so he could talk to a recruiter about it just a idea I love it really good job.
