doubtful but I would ask your unit before hand. I know that the Guard is looking into it and some states I believe are doing it now, but not all.

Our unit would either put you up in the armory on a cot or request that you stay at another soldier's house.

For those of you that have over 100mile drive you can claim this as a deduction on your taxes. I would think also that if you paid for a hotel yourself you could claim that but it might get a little expensive.

NGB policy is if a Soldier lives over 50 miles from their unit of assignment they are authorized Hotel/Motel accomadations. Been that way for at least 5 yrs now that I can remember. Each State does it differently and some states have done away with it completely. It turns into a funding issue. At one time I was getting rooms for all ranks. Now its just for JR enlisted and JR Officers.

Strike....Just a lowly Readiness NCO

Aye, as MG stated, it is different for each unit I suppose.

My unit puts people > 50 miles up in a hotel. You just need to call the unit and see what they say.
