Psyops and Civil Affairs Specialist...
I know these are definitely offered in the Army Reserve and I ckecked the ARNG website and they were listed, but when I asked my recruiter about these jobs he looked puzzled. I explained what they were and he showed me a printout of jobs offered and I didn't see them on there. I'm sure it depends on the state. Does anyone know about these jobs in the ARNG? I'm in Texas if that helps.

I am a 37F SFC in the Virginia Army National Guard.

There are 26 TOTAL PSYOP slots in all 54 National Guards (50 states, Guam, PR, Virgini Islands, and DC). Of those, 17 are E-7 and 9 are E-8. The E-7 slots are located at manuever BDE HQs. The E-8 slots are located at the Division TACs. Currently, thier are a total of 13 QUALIFIED 37F NCOs in the all of those slots. THis leaves you with 50% of the slots VACANT.

According to the MOS regulation, ARNG PSYOP need not be Airborne qualified. So don't expect to jump. If you are lower in rank, I agree, join the reserves and you will have a lot of promotion potential with two entire PSYOP regiments in the USAR. However, FYSA, Texas has 2 E-7 and one E-8 slot. Currently, only the E-8 slot is vacant.
