I am looking to find a new home for the 26' Motor Surf Boat that served on the ACHUSNET, based in New Orleans. The boat was manufactured in 1963 by the U.S. Coast Guard in Curtis Bay, Maryland. It is in good running condition but of course could use a little attention and care.

Plenty of detailed information and pictures are available if anyone is interested. THANKS!

Very intersted... but it depends where it is at, too. We need a 26' motor life boat for the WMEC 202 Comanche. See "http://hnsa.org/ships/comanche.htm"

Well...we are in Frankfort, MI, about 2,275 miles away from Olympia, WA. It could be worse, but only if we were in Maine or Florida!

Too bad, because it would be cool for this boat to be part of a greater restoration. The COMMANCHE looks like a fine vessel with admirable history.

Maybe we could "shuttle" it across the country, with CG volunteers along the way taking a couple hundred miles each and then passing it on to the next driver.

Well, that is an idea. We are interested, especially one from an other Cutter. I take it it is in good enough useable condition to make an effort to get it here?

It belongs to a friend of mine from Florida, who summers in northern Michigan. During the renovation process he had some health issues, and is no longer able to summer in Michigan. With me being nearest to the boat I offered to help him sell it.

Yes, it is definitely in good enough shape to acquire. Hardware is polished and ready to re-install, engine is fine, deck and hullsides have been re-painted. Trailer is rough, it would need some work to make any kind of journey. PM me an e-mail address and I'd be glad to send pics.
