Found these pics on the Minnesota Historical Society website. For those of us who spent time there, hope these bring back fond memories of life on the North Shore. Enjoy.

Yep, and when Duluth was a Group, Sta N Superior was a fulltime station, not a SARDET as it is now. There are still lakers to this day that hail us as "Group Duluth" on the radio.
It looks so different now. I take a pic or two every time I'm up there and they always look the same but between '40 and now... oh how times have changed.

I don't believe so. I got there in '92 and since then, it's been a SARDET manned by rotating crews during the summer months from Sta Duluth. It was shut down as a full-time station during the mid/ late 80's RIF under Reagan, I believe. If anyone knows different, please post. There has been talk of making it a Summer Stock (reserve) station from time to time, but hasn't happened yet.
I'm going up there next weekend (it's MEA). I'm looking forward to taking a few fresh photos. I would have loved to been there 60 years ago... lots of development since then. Now there are condos anywhere there's no water
