I just wanted to make people aware of the Coast Guard Heritage Museum in Barnstable, MA.
My grandfather (Army Vet) has been volunteering there for about a year or so now and I finally got to go there this week. I must say that the collection of artifacts and memorabilia these retired/former Coasties have acquired is very impressive. If anyone can make it to the village of Barnstable, MA, stop in and check it out, it will be well worth the trip! |

Josh,
You're right, the museum is a must see for any Coastie that lives w/in the Boston/Cape Cod area. If your lucky the volunteers will open the old jail house next door. It's supposed to be the oldest standing jail in the country. 3353 Main St Barnstable, MA 02630 (508) 362-8521 |
