you already hit the nail on the head. You payback the money. Other repercussions are minor in scope - can't effectively use the class in an EPR bullet and if you get into a situation where your superiors need to look into your educational background then they may see it but really the payback is the biggest issue. I mean really (unless you're leaving work early or doing the class at work) it has no effect on the workplace and thus no one but you, the education center and possibly finance will no about it (again assuming you pay the class fees on time according to the TA guidelines).
If you want to gruaduate the same time you'll need to do an extra class one semester or period. *shrugs* the money is the biggest issue...

Most distance learning schools will work with you if you are doing poorly. They know if you fail, you might have to pay back your tuition. That is right you might not have to pay it back. But if you pay it back once, you likely won't be back. That hurts their enrollment and they don't want that.
