Does anyone know if there is a way to still do NCO Academy by correspondence or if there is a way to get an exemption?

Also, does anyone know why the school at McGuire is closing?

I am a traditional reservist, and just completed the "Course 00009" last June by corospondence. I do not know about AD requirements, but your training NCOIC would be a real good start point.

I don't think the course 9 is available to active duty. I think it is for reservists only. The NCO Academy really isn't that bad.

If my info is correct Caninedale is right course 9 is only available to reservist. I'm taking course 9 now myself and it's about to bore the hell out of me. Anyone know of a good study guide for course 9?

I too am in the middle of my Course 9 and it is truly boring. I have a study guide, but it is not in electronic form. Since this is my first time on the forum, I don't know if there are PM's. If there are, then PM me your address, and I will send you a copy.

Oh yeah, my buddy just took the test and said there were a LOT of questions from volume 2. I will find out soon enough since I am scheduled to take the test in 6 days.

Later

Thanks Rebnuts, but I've already got that.

Just found out that I need to go ahead and finish it. My trouble maker of a SSgt just finished his 7-level CDC's and we got our books at the same time I can't let him out due me. Plus I just found that my NCOIC is retiring, that will open an E-7 and an E-8 slot in my section, My CC is in a good mood so I need to test asap so I'm sitting pretty when I cross the tig requirement

Me and my two buddies all took it on the same day.

78's all around with two days of solid cramming. I thought the test was going to be easier. The way the questions are phrased is a little wierd.

Sent you an e-mail. All I have is the vre questions and answers. While you can get them out of the cdc's themselves it helps to have everything consoledated

Can someone send me a copy of the NCO Academy study guide? It would be cool to just read one paper, rather than flipping through each of these volumes'....

Included in the policy change (when it happened) is 9-skill level can no longer be awarded to E-7s.

For Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard members, SNCOA completion is required for promotion to Senior Master Sergeant. Reserve and Guard members may complete PME promotion requirements by correspondence, residence, or any other approved method.
