what does the Air Force look for in an enlisted Airman when deciding who to pick to be commissioned?? I know you need a degree but what else?? what would make you stand out?

do they look at your behavior in the military? even your ASVAB score maybe??

Im currently in the process of joining the Air Force and my goals are to eventually get a degree while active duty and becoming commissioned..

so any help on what I can do to make me stand out or what they look for would be much appreciated!!!

thanks for the help!

Be quiet, sit down, and color.

You'll submit an application package containing:
  • your last "x" APRs
  • Your official college transcript (Important: your major--technical preferred; and GPA--it needs to be in the high 3's to be competitive)
  • any letters of recommendation you might have (Some people try to get all letters of recommendation from colonels or general officers. That's absolute overkill; you'll be much better off getting a few letters from people who are in a position to know you personally, and can speak to your qualities as an airman, and your potential for service.)
  • A form filled out and signed by an officer who interviews you, and comments on your potential for service as an officer.

Community involvement is a good thing; so is involvement in your organization's booster organization, dining hall advisory committee. Airman/NCO of the month/quarter/year is a significant accomplishment. Senior Airman Below the Zone is also good. But, the most important thing is to do your job, and do it well. Be a strong, reliable wingman.

But, before you start pursuing a commission, you just need to complete your enlistment, get into the Blue Suit, and complete your training.

Happy to be here, proud to serve.
