I just got my scores for the AFOQT but I'm wondering what the average scores are. They told me I did well but I want to know what that really means.

That all depends...someone correct me if I am wrong here but to my knowledge the AFOQT scores are only relative to the other scores that people got in your testing class...meaning it is curved to the highest score in the class and the rest follow suit...are you enlisted, ROTC, OTS candidate because assuming you passed the only "competitive" numbers that really matter are for the rated positions (pilot/nav scores)

supposedly a 50 in each category is average. Less then a 50, your below average. Over a 50 you are above average. Thats how it was explained to me anyway.

Whether 50 is the "true" average, I have no idea.
