I am in Security Forces and am in need of going to 7 level school. I am pregnant and have been told I cannot go because of the physical demands. Is there any truth to this? If so where is it written. Thanks for any inputs!
I am not certain for security forces, but i do know in teh maintenance side we have a fetal protection program and my guess is it would fall under that somewhere. I know it is an Air Force wide program and all supervisors in maintenance have to take a training course on it. It says that if someone gets pregnant they cannot work around aircraft or anything hazardous. I can only assume that the PT you would be doing at SF 7lvl school could possibly effect your pregnancy would be the reason behind that. I would call the 7 lvl school and ask them if they can gve you any information. You may be able to apply for a waiver if the PT is not absolutely mandatory to pass. Good luck!
Maggie, I am a UTM, and was a UTM for a SFS for 2 years. There is truth to it. You also have to have passed the PT test to go. Ask your UTM to print off the list of requirements from ETCA (for 7 lvl school).
There's exceptions to every rule. Your UTM can also send a request to the NCOA admissions officer to waive your PT. They did me, and I went on a profile. Don't know if it was proper procedure, but you might get lucky if someone somewhere doesn't know what they're doing and approves it. Sad way to look at it, but I'd give it a try.
