I'm a 4 year enlistee stationed overseas at Mildenhall I'll be hitting my two year mark in Oct. I know as a fisrt term 4 year enlistee my cross train window opens at 33 months. But, I'm kinda confused about the different rules for people stationed overseas. I recently chose to ipcot here at Mildenhall so my tour was extended for another 2 years my deros is now april of 2010. I've been told that since I ipcoted I may have knocked myself out my cross train window. Any truth to this?

Your best bet is to call AFPC and ask. You may be able to still apply if you apply for critically manned jobs. Those jobs seem to waiver a lot of different things.

thanks. I guess I'll wait it out. A few of the jobs im interested in are critically manned anyways. I'm not disatisfied with my job I just like to look at all my options.

The only thing I would ask someone at MPF is what AFI governs cross training. I have found that people who should be "experts" in their departments tend to talk out their a$$es at times. I have been burned by outbound assignments and military pay. I now look up everything myself before going just to be safe.

Your window just got moved back two years. That's all, when your reenlistment time is up, you will have the chance since you're still a first term airman.
