To those who disagree with General Clark & General Sanchez's comments about the uncalled for war
in Iraq need to go back an do a reality check about this war, because we all know their both doing the right thing for the American People to speak out about the truth post being on active duty. I would like for some of you whiners about their comments to tell me if you argued with your superiors when you were told to do a mission you felt was wrong? I Think not because soldiers do what their told to do by their superiors, so do Generals especially when they're being micro managed by people like Mr Rumsfeld and Mr Bush who were their superiors. My belief is that some of them did try to tell Mr Bush & Mr Rumsfield that 140,000 troops would be way to
few troops to secure a country as big as Iraq, however they wouldn't listen, yet they never had
any good plan for victory, no exit strategy and way to few troops, also their leadership was a
failure from day one. When a Good general has superiors like Mr Bush an Rumsfeld he most of the time tells them what they want to hear an goes on about his mission doing the best he can with what he has to work with. I 'm a Veteran an Military Retiree who served in an during the Vietnam
war under General Westmoreland and I believe the daily figures sent in each day about how many
enemy was killed were artificually high because if we were killing 5,000 viet-Cong a day we wouldn't have stayed bogged down in that war for nearly as many years as we were getting 53,000
soldiers killed fighting a fox an chicken war just like we are in Iraq, we would have won the
war in less than five years, however these high figures were what Mr Johnson, Mr Ford an Nixon
wanted to hear to try an somehow make the American people believe we were wining when we were
loseing all the time yet at one time we had upwards of 500,000 troops in Vietnam but the failed
leadership an micro management of those Presidents an Secatary's of defense I believe were the
same reason we're loseing the war in Iraq. I still feel that Vietnam just like Iraq was and is
two uncalled for wars we should have never sent any of our great soldiers to fight in on the ground because in neither one had any good leadership above the Generals in charge of them. I also feel that wars should not be managed by Presidents an Secrataries of defense, they all should be managed by Good Generals like General Wesley Clark & General Sanchez because we've lost in our last two wars because of failed leadership of our Presidents and Secretaries of defense. In closeing I feel that the American people need to support good Generals in what they
do and say about the failed leadership of our Presidents, and Secretaries of defense when the truth is that plans an direction for victory in our wars should be left to our good Generals with
good leadership. Look what happened in Korea, if Mr Truman would have left McAuthur to complete
the mission to peongyang there wouldn't be any communist North Korea or a South Korea there would be just one prosperous Korea. When will our polititions learn from their failures in trying
to be the big dog in the wars we fight an lose?????? Violin

The quote above got to my attention, after reading thru the obvious rant posted thereon.
IF, Pres truman, Pres Eisenhower, had committed the use of our Nucs to end the conflict aas Doug M wanted. we would be, today, branded even more so as Humanitarian Outcasts.
The conflict in Korea ended in the best possible way it could have in those days and times. We spent USMC, USA, USN lives to give the South a decent place to live. The USA folks still there are continuing the honor and tradition of standing on the wall for thier freedom and ours.
end

Ref: TENNSLIM'S Reply to my post about the good Generals Leading

If you read my post right you would clearly understand that I
never mentioned anything about General MAC A. useing nukes to win
the war in South Korea, nor have I ever heard or read any such
statement anywhere in the History books about General MAC A. wanting to use nuclear force to complete his mission in the Korean
war? Mr Truman never fired General MAC A. because he wanted to use
nuclear force against North Korea, he was fired because he disagreed with Mr Truman's policy about the war in Korea!

Let me restate what I said, if Mr Truman had listened to General MAC A. allowing him to complete his mission to peoyang trough the use of our conventional forces of which we had plenty we would not have had the two Koreas we have today one with a crazy dictator an
the other with a very prosperous democratic government. The Northern half of Korea would not be controled by a dictator like
Kim Ill Sung had Mr Truman allowed General MAC A. to lead our forces to a
whole Country Victory, then There would not be starvation an famine
in North Korea, it would be as prosperous as the South is today only under an elected Democratic government. This was a very called for war, and I have great respect for our courageous soldiers who fought an died there defending Korea's freedom as well as our own interest. "OH HOW SOME OF US READ SO MUCH INTO THE
THINGS THEY READ" WHY CAN"T THEY JUST TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT REALLY
SAYS?????? Argue
