I recently reported to Tracen Yorktown, and I have been here since the beginning of the year.
Well, I found it funny today when the HS3 went to go get my Med Record for my Oversea's Screening, and presently informed me that it was MIA!!! That they did not have it atleast and that more than likely I needed to contact my previous command and ask them to send it out.
I did so, and guess what, i was informed from them that they had sent it out... In December of Last Year!!! I came on hear with the full intent of ranting on this. And then I noticed that this is a whole sub-section amoung the topics, and now I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else, as far as having their Record lost going from a previous unit to Tracen Yorktown? Even better question, what happens if they can not find it? Do I have to go through all of the shots AGAIN? if that is the case than I need to re-evaluate how important it is for me to go Overseas! Any insight on the topic would be GREATLY appreciated as I am completely in the dark with all this!
Thanks. Peace

I can't tell you if this has happened to others specifically to Tracen Yorktown...perhaps someone will come along that has. In answer to part of your question...You will not have to retake your shots, since these things are coded and require signature control as well as log entries. Because of those requirements, it may assist in the recovery of your missing records.
Wishing you the best in your endeavors.

I also kept my own personal copies of my records just for that purpose with all the moving around I did.
