I ship out July 29 for the next WTC on 08-08-08. I think thats the right date of the class. Anyone else going?????

I will keep a log of my journey through the program and when I have time I will post for those of you who are intending to/shipping out in the future.

Looking forward to this challenge. Just remember that the harder it is the more gratifying you will feel when you succeed. Life is full of obstacles, and how we choose to act in moments of extreme hardship not only define who we are but make us stronger for the next hurdle.

Good Luck to all of those who are attending this training with me, and to those of you who will be attending in the future.

Can I get a HOAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the encouraging words Sabre. I will be right there along side you at Ft. Sill. I'm shipping for SC on the 29th. I'm kind of nervous but i'm sure its just the last minute butterflies. Hopefully we'll have a chance to meet. I'm prior service Navy soon become a 13F. Good luck my friend. Remember the name Howard.

I'll see ya there I am sure. I am recovering from a nasty case of runners knee at the moment. I was running in some crappy shoes.....

But I should be recovered in a few days..

looking forward to the 4 weeks of challenges.

I'm working on my running as well and its rough. The only way you won't see me there is if you don't show up. Whats your MOS? Hope that knee gets better. We also have a few days of inprocessing for it to 'get right' also.

I have a question. Is anyone in the reserves, who is going WTC? And is anyone going directly going to AIT right after WTC? Is there any gap in time between schools?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes. Depending on what AIT dates your unit sets up for you.

I have been doing some research on here, and it seems that prior service people who are also reservists may have to return home after WTC then leave again for AIT. How realistic is this??

Happens all the time. Your unit schedules your schools. They say when you go to AIT. It's better that way sometimes. You might graduate on the 15th for instance but your AIT doesn't start until the 28th. Do you want to wait for two weeks doing nothing or would you like to go home for a while and not wait around for your class to start?

Wow, thats very cool. So MEPS just sets up your WTC, not AIT, did I understand that right? I understand that could change, but I am looking at this as averages. Another questions being since I wish to be an MP, is it possible to be sent to jump school?? Or will the counselers just laugh. What about keeping my E-3 rank, since I am prior service? How should I approach the counselers about all these questions?

I'm going active duty so I'm not sure if this will help. I went to meps last monday. They gave me a WTC date and an AIT date. I lost my rank was E-4 now E-3. They said now way about airborne or any schools. They gave me two choices for jobs. Now I'm active so its prob different for you. hope this helps

Jump school is possible, I think. Depending what your ASVAB (if you have to take it) score is. High enough score opens doors for you.

They offered me chemical and Patroleum Lab tech. I took the tech job. They told me I couldnt get back into my old job as a carpenter 21W. Yeah I asked about schools and they said "no way". I don't know about the asvab score, there about 10 sides to every story. I know the Lab job has a min line to get the job and i didnt have that score but they gave it to me anyway. Also I have a degree in envrionmental science so maybe thats why. Who knows? Ask and maybe you'll recieve.

people jump school is part of air boorne training not just a school you can go to for ****s and giggles if your unit has an opening for a school put in for it. but be prepared its not as easy as it use to be. you have to pass the military requirements for all schools so dont lax on your pt stuff.PT is what keeps 90% of soldiers from going to non MOS specific schools. ASVAB scores have nothing to do with anything after AIT. That test is used for job placement.
