I am shipping for wtc on oct 19 13f.

hey i'm prior navy too, been out for three months and i head to meps tomorrow. just wondering was oct 19th the closest date they had for you or is that what you chose? i'm trying to go asap.

it all depends on the job that you decided to choose at meps and what day. I went in on aug 13 and chose 13f with a ship date of oct 19. I asked if they had infantry and they did not but he looked up ship dates for 11x and they were not shipping until well after jan. so it all depends.

prior AF shipping out 19Oct to WTC as well! then AIT in Jan for 19D.

just to give you an idea, here was my experience.

went to meps sometime in begining of Aug09, and was given two choices; Combat Engineer (ship out Feb10), or Cavalry Scout (ship out Oct09). not sure what caused me to only have the two choices above, but i couldnt be happier as Cav Scout is EXACTLY what i wanted! they did a grade determination waiver on me and kept my E-5, and i am also currently active duty AF doing the "blue to green".

Congrats on getting what you wanted! I'm hoping for 19D as well but, I don't think its been offered for E5 lately. We'll see soon hopefully.

Not bringing a laptop, just cell phone. I haven't heard anything about a coming home date. Were you told that we would be done before thanksgiving?
