After a marathon 9-11 trip to MEPS I am in the US Army finally.

I was only offered one job and took it of course , 92F (Petroleum Supply Specialist).

I lost one rank so I'm coming back as E-5 Sergeant. Although I would have paid them to sign me up, I got a $20K bonus.

Feels real good-Hooah !

Also in class 501 ? All at Sill ?

Congrats buddy!!!

WTC at Ft. Sill? Same as I did. Not good there. You should push for Santa Fer and WSMR. The staff at Ft. Sill are pretty screwed up and it is basically boot camp. You are treated worse than the IET. Lots of demeaning crap that doesnt really do anythingn but piss you off. Everyone who went through the New Mexico route got WAYYYYY better training. The DS's at Ft. Sill use this as time off from training IET's. They blew off lots of our training. I would be willing to get through again if I could go to WSMR.

But, just get through it, it is not the Army. Its just a step to get back in. As a PS E-5 you will end up a squad leader for sure. As PS Army you have TONs to teach the guys. Take it easy on those Navy and AF guys. You gotta be there anyway.

Thanks, the 1st thing I thought of was to re-read your thoughts on Sill post.

Ft Sill WTC does have it's issues but I wouldn't say it's bad training. Most of the DS's are combat vets and have valuable knowledge to pass on.

Make sure you're in shape because they are hardasses on the PT test, especially push up form. Make sure you practice them while holding your head up.

50 out of 175 from the last Ft Sill WTC class were held back due to PT failure. Heck, I talked to a couple guys at the PX that were still there from 2 WTC classes ago.

Trust me, you are WAYYYYY ahead of the game by reading this stuff on here about WTC.

Zerbs is right, the DS's may be a$$holes most of the time, but they have been there ands remember they usually train IET soldiers. My personal favorite DS was my DS SSG Vargas. He always treated us with respect. If you see him tell him SSG Faircloth says hello, and thanks.

No worries SGT, just a few less trips to the same old PX and same old Mall off base. Gets pretty boring after a day or two.

I had heard they condemned bldg 475, where the 95th inprocessing soldiers live. Its the bldg where Geronimo died, and is said to be haunted. LOTS OF MOLD IN THE SHOWER was all I saw. I mean lots, black walls. I used a gallon of bleach on my shower (I was in a room by myself...rank has its privileges) and the mold just laughed at me.
Ninja can verify the bldg.

Bring cash for taxi's as its the only way you will get around, and it gets expensive.

Appreciate the info. On the taxis , are you talking about going off post ? Or is the PX that far away ?
