ill be shipping out on tuesday the 8th and heading to fort sill. from what i understand we will spend a few days in fort sill then be shipped down to NM for the remaining time. one thing i dont have is a list of items that i need to bring. can anyone help me out?

CLOTHING • 1-day supply of casual, comfortable clothing (no halter tops or ragged shorts) • Three sets of underwear (white) • One pair of white, calf-length athletic socks (no color bands, designs or logos) Additional socks will be purchased at the post exchange (PX) • A pair of comfortable shoes • Eyeglasses (no faddish/stylish eyewear) • Luggage should be limited to one small suitcase or gym bag LOCK • One lock (combination or padlock with two keys) Additional lock will be purchased at PX TOILET ARTICLES • Disposable/safety razor with blades • Shaving cream (optional for women) • Toothbrush with case • Hairbrush or 6" black comb • One washcloth and towel (Additional items will be purchased at the PX) • Anti-perspirant • Shower shoes • Toothpaste • Dental floss • Shampoo • Soap and soap case MONEY • $10.00, but no more than $50.00, in cash • Traveler’s Checks or Money Orders (Personal checks are not recommended because of limited check-cashing facilities.) DO***ENTS YOU MAY NEED TO BRING WITH YOU • Social Security card • Valid driver’s license or current state identification card • A direct deposit form from your checking account signed by a bank official, or the name, address, account number and routing number of your financial institution if applicable) • Original or certified copies of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or separation order (if applicable) • Original or certified copies of birth certificates of children under 18; affidavit of support for parents; court do***ents and direct deposit forms if ordered to pay spousal and/or child support (if applicable) • Proof of citizenship (if you were not born in the United States) • If you are married to a service member in the military, have the name, social security number and military address of your spouse • Copies of your lease agreement or rental contract for any dependents residing outside of government quarters (if applicable) • Original or certified ROTC do***entation (if applicable) • Original college transcripts; GED or High School diploma YOUR ORDERS • Be sure to have all copies of orders and do***ents issued by your unit recruiter and /or MEPS. These orders must be delivered by you and by hand. Travel and meal tickets will be provided. |

besides what's listed on the brochure, does anyone know of anything else that is recommended to bring? i don't exactly know how current that list is and i seen on a different forum others things people have brought or are bringing.

Will probably skip on here at the hotel today, but if I dont... HOOOAH, can't wait! Wife and kids are a little upset, and maybe so am I, but it is going to be kicka## to be back.!!! See you all in a couple days!!

You really should pack as light as possible. It bears mentioning: you will fly on a civilian airline, and all the FAA restrictions absolutely apply. No fluids over 3 oz., no knives, leathermen, .45 Nickel-Plated Colts, gasoline, Sawed-off shotguns, yadda, yadda, yadda. Don't bring things you couldn't fly with, or you'll end up tossing them in a garbage can. Especially those knives and multi-tools can seem harmless enough in one's mind, and they can end up packing them without thinking. |

Congrats to all you Soldiers shipping to WTC the end of the month. I'm SSG Mitchell and I'm schedule to ship July 29th from San Diego for the Aug 8 class. Looking forward to seeing you all there and particpating with tremendous teamwork to get eachother through this course. See you all there in 3 weeks. HOOAH!!!
