just a short and sweet thanks to everyone that has supplied information on these boards i have read about everything here and im really looking forward to WTC in august
from everything i have read here ill be packing light my cell & charger some basic showering items,2 locks, paperwork and 1 change of clothes for my next duty station until i can get items sent to me other than that looks like everything is provided and all anyone really needs other than that is a positive attitude see you in august

When in August is yur WTC? I too will be going to WTC at the begining of August. Prior service active duty Army 7 years SSG/E-6. Out since March 2003. Going in as a SPC/E-4 Airborne Infantry! See you there! Name is Rios
Congrats Rios and 10579679!! I can't tell you how much I envy you guys. I am still in processing and waiting on the Army to get in. Good luck in the airbourne and kick some butt! I won't be seeing you there (too old)but, I am praying for an early ship date just to be a soldier... maybe August or September. I have a good jod now but absolutely hate it. Can't wait to be a Soldier. Again, good luck to both of you and have fun!! Keep us up to date on how much fun you have at WTC!!

What's up Bigtalker? How old are you? I was able to get a waiver for airborne training. I was ppast the cutoff age but I got a waiver directly from the ROC when I was picking out of the few combat MOS's that were offered to me. I signed my contract on May 5th to ship out Aug 3rd. 68 days and a wake up for me! Can't wait to be back in boots! I too HAD a great job in finance till the economy went bad. Lost all I worked for in the past 6 years since I left the Army. Decided to join because the Military obviously is recession proof and both of my parents are retired military. Did good during my time in - SSG/E-6 in 5 yrs 5 months. Oh well, I will get it back. Already been through PLDC and BNCOC so that's a plus. Anyway, what's holding you up right now from enlisting? Shout back!
Congrats again!! I am just waiting on my blood tests to get back. I am 44 and had to take the over 40 physical! No worries though,, I had my blood tested before I went in for the physical and my Doc said I have the blood of a 24 year old. Anyway MEPS said they should have the results this week (we will see) then, I get to sign on the digital line. Best wishes and have fun!!

Same to you my brother! Hope to see you back in ranks soon. My process took about 6 months from first visit to recruiter to signing contract. They always put prior service on the back burner! Good Luck!
paper work says start date of 081409 so ill be there with ya Rios name is Threadgill 9 year 10 mo in USN only been out aprox a year now so shouldn't be to bad ill keep an eye out for you i will be going 11X afterwards we will see after that all in all im looking forward to it and hang in there talker sounds like you have everything lined up pretty well you will make it but yeah i had to step up and push it a lil bit as far as my recruiter went as it took me about 6 months to get everything done myself which cost me my security clearance due to bills but it is what it is and i just turned 34 myself so as far as age goes dont worry about it to much seams a lot of the PS guys and gals are on the older than 25 side of life

Yup! That's my WTC date. I will also keep an eye out for you. Both of my brothers were in the Navy. my little brother was on the USS Kittyhawk (got out in 2006) and my older brother on the Saratoga before they decommissioned it (got out in 2000) in the early 90's. As far as age, I'm 36 myself but in the best shape of my life. I too will be going through 11X training and then to Airborne school. Looking forward to it! See you soon! Rios
