I don't know about any of the other branches, but it is my understanding that the National Guard is currently only taking PS recruits for O9S (Officer Candidate) right now.

I would sit down with your recruiter and respectfully emphasize how eager you are to get in the Army. If he does not sit with you and begin your packet to submit to Meps then, work your way up the chain of command, that is what it's there for in all branches of the service. Start with the station commander (your recruiter's boss) which is usually a sargeant first class. If you do not get results then, google :army recruiting command; brigades and battalions. You can then find out who your first sargeant is for your recruiting command. "If" and when you have to talk to him, trust me, you will get results.

Just had my first sit-down today with my local ARNG recruiter. He told me the Guard is only processing prior service in previously held MOS. I tried to go Infantry and was told no-go. Will have to enter as an MP, due to previous MOS in Air Force being Security Police.

Wow, I'm glad that didn't happen to me, I have ZERO interest in being a Cryptologic Linguist (Russian) these days. It just hasn't been the same since the Soviets quit lol.

this is amazing. I heard the ONLY thing I can do as prior service is 11X with airborne. so frustrating right now not knowing what MOS I can get.
I have looked, anyone know if there is a cut off age for ranger after infantry ?

Are you trying to go active or Reserve/National Guard?
