Thanks in advance for any help.
I am prior service heading to WTC this month after which I will be heading to Ft. Benning for OSUT to re-class as an 11B. I am wondering if anybody has any info on when I will be inserted into training? I have been searching for any kind of information on this but it is all conflicting. I have read that you get placed into basic in the second week but I have also read that that you get put in on the seventh.I am concerned that I will be way behind the power curve and kind of in left field entering into an OSUT course rather than being introduced into AIT in another field.

I was 13F last go around.
Thanks again.

When I looked into this a couple months ago I asked the same question. Here's what I could figure out.

WTC takes you through Buddy team movements, and OUST picks up in the 10th week with Fire Team Movements. My guess was you would be inserted into the 10 week, just after the required 9 weeks of BCT for the IET soldier. Here's the schedule.

When I graduated WTC there were a few guys there that were placed in week 2 of basic training. That had to suck. It all depends on when you get there. If you get there and they have a class that has started there not going to let you sit around till they get to week 10 your going to go to when you get there. So hope for week 10...LOL I would hate to go through 8 weeks of BT again.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I am glad that I can mentally prep for the possibility of going back through Basic again;not to mention I will be properly squared away going through a larger chunk of training.

Still-doing four weeks WTC then being inserted in on the second week of OSUT sounds a bit frustrating.

Im an MA in the Navy and trying to reclass to Infantry. So I would have to go thru Boot Camp(Basic Training) in the Army, no biggie. How would that affect my rank? Would I be a booter during the training and then regain my rank after gradutation? And would I keep my pay at the current rank? Thanks for help on this.

Mexlariat, You will go through WTC then process into the OUST ...The question is WHEN will you merge into the class. You won't be doing basic from the start.

No wtc is not the same as basic, I just got out of wtc last week. From what I saw you can pretty much be a worthless screwup and still get through on time. The only hold-overs we had out of 240+ people was pt failures and medicals. In the past classes about half the hold-overs were non qualifiers with the rifle and half were pt. All in all it was a waste of time and resources, by that I mean there was quality info put out but with 240 odd people trying to get the same quals signed off it lost a lot of practical value. The biggest positive change the army could affect would be to clean out all the drill sgts at ft sill processing(excluding ninja drill of course). Seriously, just show up and follow the crowd, use your common sense and try not to be the one that screws it up for everyone. The suck factor is pretty high but if you did boot camp you can do wtc.
