Im working on my APFT traning now and was curious about the standards. Ive read that Active Duty is 60% to pass each discipline while Basic Training is 50% to pass. What would I be considered? It's not BMT but I won't technically be active duty either. It's not that huge of a difference in standards, just curious which to expect.
You have the wrong information, or have misinterpreted it. In order to pass WTC or basic training and go DIRECTLY to AIT(MOSQ), you must acheive 50% in each event. If you are going from WTC straight back to your unit, then you are required to achieve 60%. The Army standard is 60% in each event. With that being said, you must get 60% in order to graduate from AIT to go a unit from there. Make sense?
It doesn't matter if you are active duty or not. It all depends on whether you are going to AIT after WTC or on to your unit. NG, AR, RA...all the same.
AIm to max it out 300 points set your minimum at 60% even IF you have AIT it will make it that much easier, the first thing they tell you is the "scheduled pt" is nothing but sustainment pt (Google Conditioning Drills 1 & 3) all the drills sergents will tell you to do you own PT to help yourself. If you plan or even if you don't plan on being in a leadership roll ie "PG" or Platoon Sergeant memorize CD1 & CD3
Yeah. What he said! Don't ever shoot for the minimum. Some of reps might not count because of bad form so train yourself for that possibility and shoot higher just to make sure.
