Just wanted to drop a line to see who out there will be attending WTC in Aug. We are getting closer! I am prior service Army. I've been out since March 2003 and ready to be back in ranks soon. Wish I would have never left. From SSG/E-6 to SPC/E-4. From ADA to Airborne Infantry and looking forward to it. See you there! SPC Rios

What branch of service where you in? I went to PLDC in Germany with a Christensen. I was stationed in Fort Bliss until September of 1999.

I too am going to WTC in Aug. Prior service (Army) 97B (counterintelligence agent) to Infantry and also am looking forward to it. Already airborne Q'd. I got out in, hold your hats, 98. I also got knocked down to a SPC. I am looking forward to getting back in! See you there. Millenaar Out!

Should make for a great group if it keeps up like this. Counting down the days but they are not going buy fast enough. Don't you have to go back to Jump school to re-qualify or at least make a couple of jumps? Anyhow, see you soon!

Apparently just go back through jump refresher.j After that, I'll have the rest of my airborne life to figure it out.

Strangely enough I just got a call from the Station Commander of the recruiting station I am using and they just told me that they want me to ship this month! Apparently, a memo came down from USAREC and they are moving some of us prior service to an earlier WTC date. CHECK WITH YOUR RECRUITERS! I will let you know as soon as they call me back with the details. Again, check with your recruiters!

i got the same call today i was suppose to ship july 14th but now they want me to ship this month as well but i will find out mor in a couple days

We don't have a couple of days to find out! You probably will know by C.O.B. today. In order to make the June 26th school date, we have to be shipping on or before the 17th of this month. Let me know if you hear something before I do. Check back with this post continuously and as soon as I know, I will post it.

Well, got that call I was waiting for. My new ship date is June 23rd. Doesn't give me too much time to get my personals in order but I will be at MEPS come the 23rd. I do not have all the details yet as far as wether or not the AIT and Airborne school dates change or not, I would imagine that they will.

That is great news! I'm sure that you don't need it, but good luck. I basically begged to get an earlier class date but now at this point in time, it would hard to accommodate such an accelerated schedule. I'm sure that you will do fine. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders.

I'm just curious, do you guys get any leeway in selecting your WTC ship date? Is it similar to the DEP program?

NOT AT ALL! You leave when they tell you that you have to leave.

That is the difference between IET and PS soldiers.

I too am going to WTC in Aug. Prior service Army, was in medical but am going back as Airborne Infantry. Can't wait! What kind of details regarding training does anyone have. My recruiter seems to be less than totally informed as to the schedule regarding WTC and infantry school. Will we be folded into a OSUT unit following our WTC completion, or will we all be sent to our "own" infantry school, something similar to WTC?

I am in the same boat as you. It's hard to get information as to whats going to happen. I think that it is not always the same and therefore it is hard to get a definite answer. I think that we will be falling into a existing OSUT class between weeks 8 and 9. I was in the Michigan National Guard. I didn't go to PLDC. After reading some the posts on other topics, I hope everyone is ready to take on the hectic schedule of WTC... I personally am not too excited about the heat, I am from Northern Michigan, it's a lot cooler here...lol.

I am re-enlisting as a PFC (E-3), and my mos is 25v (combat documentation/production specialist). From what I have read about this mos, not many soldiers have ever met anyone in this mos.
