So for class 517 we have milrtime, MC29, oliver13mute, and Syrix. Our time is getting closer. I have been talking to a guy from my Guard unit who is there right now. He is starting his second week, I believe. He said every third day is muscle failure and no pt the day before APFT. I think he also said there was one day of pt at reception, plenty of smokings though. Make sure you bring brown polish.

just arrived apr 28. Today is sunday and got to go to church we were marched over with the basic training soldiers by a drill seagent. I am on pass and got to go to the rec center and px. you never go anywhere alone always have to have a battle buddy. learn the soldiers creed and the army song. you will be tested. also study up on d&c. 1st week is all inprocessing. ( medical, dental, hearing, finance, clothing issue etc...)hurry up and wait kind of stuff. Learn to make a military bed with hospital corners. lights out at 10pm wake up 4am. Sat and Sun 6am wake up. Don't know how it will be after we are done with inprocessing and cross over to the other side to really start WTC. don't bring a lot of extra stuff just the bare minimum you won't wear it or need it and if you do need it you can buy it at the px.(a buddy of mine is mailing back a whole suit case because he doesn't want to carry it around. his reseve unit made him bring all his ACU's but he got a whole new issue here) the most important thing is drink a lot of water. we had one guy fall out because of heat he got sent to the hospital and is on bed rest he will be a hold over. DRINK A LOT OF WATER. YOU WILL BE REMINED BY THE CADRE. 6 2quart canteens through out the day. Also remember there is a chain of command. Just because you were a mid level manager out in the civilian world doesn't matter here; you will be cleaning the bathrooms and sweep flooring like everyone else. Also, nobody cares what you did in the airforce, navy, marines, coast guard this is the army. Also remember to stand at parade rest when addressing an NCO. Don't call a seagent in the army "sir " call them seagent. Also there are Drill Seagents around the inprocessing area working with the basic training soldiers. They look very intimadating, they really don't mess with WTC but they will if they have to and you don't want that. Be able to pass the PT test or you will be a hold over. Just some advice take or leave it.

I am Texas NG and my recruiter was surprised they gave me AIT date. There is another guy in my unit that is 68W prior AF and they did not give him an AIT date either.

i am slated to go to ft sill may 27th im not sure which class date i will have but the mos i got on my contract is 15U anyone know if after wtc you get to go home to pick up your vehicle for ait? im not too sure or too worried about it but it would be a nice bit of info to have

You will probably be in Class 516. It looks like everyone going into Class 517 is shipping mid-june.

June 16th....you should be in Echo battery. This is a hardcore PT battery so be very prepared. If you end up in 3rd platoon, you will do twice daily PT. We are the 3rd platoon to get our cadre a 3peat for Honor Platoon!

elpollo06.....Sundays, yes you are ELIGIBLE for free time, however, it will all depend on your platoon and battery. This is the way it is daily, so make sure your platoon understands this. Last weekend, we had POST pass from 0900 until 1700, prior to that it was 1300 to 1700.

I am wondering where the limits of what and where you are aloud to do and go? What kinds of things do people do in their free time on sundays? Movies? Is drinking completely off limits? I am assuming it is but, I believe I read a post where some Soldiers went bowling and they drank there. It was an old post I believe, and I think they were about to graduate, so that may have been why. It would be nice to have a couple cold ones to unwind. On the other hand, will probably be too pooped to even think about it lol. It sucks getting old.

NO DRINKING of ALCOHOL is ALLOWED while attending WTC.
