I am prior service Navy 97-02 HM 8404,8483,8446. I am currently in the AirForce reserves IRR 2T231 E-4until June of this year. I am 36 yr's old. I am interested in going back into the Navy or Army active duty. Does anyone know what my options are at this time. I would like to do 15 more years and retire at 52. Does anyone have any information on on the MOS 68D Surgical technologist ? This MOS is the same as my Navy NEC and I have been doing this job since I have gotten out of the Navy. Any info on what the job is like in the Army, Deployments etc. would be great.
Thanks !!

get your conditional release paperwork signed and talk to a recruiter. find out what jobs are available. then stop there and totally research it before going any further. possibly talk to a few other recruiters outside your local area.

I tried to get into the Navy and at this time they are not letting prior service back in unless priority rate. I wasted my time 8 weeks for them to say no. The Navy recruiter had the Army recruiter talk with me and I took the chance It only took me two weeks to process for the Army mostly waiting for the Navy o transfer paperwork. I was very impressed with the Army being a prior Navy recruiter. Also with the Navy and being and HM you have to think about how long it will take to make rank. When submitting your package they also ask you based on your AVAB score to pick 3 other rates. When your package goes up your rate could change. Wish you luck
