As you probably already know, there are no re-enlistment bonuses for PS going back in. There are however a number of bonuses for MOS's that are considered critical. Those MOS's and bonuses change on a daily basis...even hourly. It is the nature of all things. This thread...

...has a basic idea of what people are getting, but as you read through it, some people will get something, other's will get nothing. Without sounding to much like sitting on a soapbox, while I would love to have some extra money in my pockect for signing up again, I'll just take the uniform and be happy with that. I know there are many other's here who feel the same way. When you are re-enlisting you have some leverage, but when you are at the mercy of those with the ability to check a box yes or no, then you have none.Anyway, good luck with it....Also you can find posted bonuses easily on about, and milcom, but like I said, the information could be old. Best to cross reference critical mos's on the web to get an idea as to what the possibilities are...

My recruiter was prety straight up. He said he saw some get a bonus & others not. PS guys get very few options, depends on so many variables, you never know until you get in front of MEPS counselor. I was out 17 years & got a small bonus for 13B,3 years. I lost a stripe so that's why only 3, get that stripe back & re-up for longer & finally finish my 20. Hope that helps some.

IMO, the best time for a bonus has always been right before the end of the fiscal year Aug-Sept in MOS' where they are not making their numbers.

I have heard that prior service are not getting bonus' though AND I have also heard that in some limited cases they are. It does really depend on the ebb and flow of applicants.

One of the limited cases I heard they were getting them was enlisting with college degrees (bonus for college).

We just had a guy in the Army Forums transfer from NG to Regular Army and get a bonus as a 11B but he did not require retraining at all and was under 3 years and it was a discharge from NG and enlistment into RA (transfer). Officially, I think that is a prior service enlistment.

My prior service bonus was 15,000. But, I reenlisted January of 2007 into the ARNG, after a 10 year break in service.
