I know that a 92 yankee is not a MP, I want to rejoin the army, but I am Qed as a 92 yankee, I am wanting to retrain into being a MP...another MOS...I believe it is 31 bravo.

I am thinking about going back in. I was prior Army National Guard but got chaptered out at the end of AIT for not passing my PT. I am in better shape now, and it has been 9 years. I was told I would not have to go back into Basic and would go to WTC.

I was MOSQed as a 92Y Military Unit Supply, but have since got my BA in Social Work. I want to go into the MP MOS. Does anyone know of a bonus for a enlisted MP?

I actually want to go to OCS, and be a MP Officer.

I was told I had a better chance of making OCS after I get back in as enlisted. is this true?

But I am very interested in knowing what to expect on my contract...

You shouldn't have any problem getting 31B, They need them, you've got your degree, just stick to your guns, and make sure it's on your contract. I've got my degree too and they wanted me to do the AFSC I was in the AF. I've been in Law Enforcement since I got out and my degree is in Criminal Justice so what would be the purpose of me going into something other than 31B. Thats what I got 31B Q9/ Investigative besides I know guys in the Army that have 4 to 6 different MOS'S

officeryt, I leave for WTC Aug 16th, my MOS is 31B, one of my friends who is a Sgt. and MP said that I'll have to take 2 diffrent MOS schools....one for the 31B and another some else...what are the Q9's and such, don't know much about MOS's seeing how I'm prior AF.

I'm prior AF too, it took me long enough to figure out AFSC's and now they even changed them since I got out in 92. There are digits after your MOS for different slots in your battalion. If you find it you can look it up on about.com or another sight. I'm not sure if you only get specific slots for guard and reserve, or if everyone does. That could be the difference, if your active duty, I'm reserves. Like 31B V5 is MP investigative, 31B Q9 is MP Investigative/w traffic. I really never liked working traffic but different slots open you up for more schools. Look on your contract and see if you can figure it out. Hope this gives you some insight. I don't know about you but it seemed like when I went in the AF it was more up front, the Army is like a shell game, a big smoke and mirrors deal. It's like going in to buy a damn car!

I feel you on that seems like I have to learn on my own a million things a day...I got the "don't worry about it" attitude from my Sgt. today, about a question I had, pissed me off..P.S. he actually said "dont worry bout it."

Yeah, I found out after the fact that I qualified for OCS with my college credits. Now he tells me that it's easier to get in my unit and get a dirrect commision. like i just ask for it and someone hands me my butter bars.

Yea, ever since I swore in...can't get a straight anwere from anyone, my even my own recuiter...man, I missed the military!

Not that I cared whether or not I got a bonus, but we future 19kilo fellows are getting 15k sweet ones. Death by sabot, hooah?

I am planning to join the Army in 18months after I finish some stuff here @ home. I am prior USAF and have to do good in the Army before I can rejoin the AF due to how things ended. Where can I find a list of which jobs you can get as 18month or 2 year jobs??? There are many variables for getting a bonus.

I was 11B1PC2. Airborne infantry with anti-tank designator. Was at MEPS this past week and signed up 88M. It will be nice to not have to walk everywhere but my choices were very limited, I wanted to go back infantry but no slots unless I wanted to wait 8 months. I was told no bonus but I did my research before I went up and told the councelor that he was wrong. What do you know, I got $19,000 for a three year enlistment. Looking forward to WTC Sept 15th.

19k for 3 yrs is def nice... howd you go about doing that? Where do you do this kind of research... im trying to find jobs w/ short enlistments and decent bonuses. Thank you...

my hubby just signed. He was told MP is closed so took 31u. He got a 10k bonus lumpsum.

I leave for AIT on Nov 17th at Shepherd AFB I recieved a 10,000 bonus for going 21k which is a plumber. any other plumbers out there?

I went to meps this week in Raleigh. I'm prior Air Force Security Forces, 23years old, sep from AD in jan 06 and been Af reserves since. The mos i got for the Army is 42A Human Resorce speacilist. NO bonus. I ship to wtc on 6 sept.
