I'm trying to join the army reserves as a 68k(medical lab tech). My only problem is that the army only considers civilian education viable when it has been completed within the past three years. I graduated in 1999, but have kept current with continued education classes and certifications.

My only regress is for the unit I'm going to- to take me as a will train. Meaning they will pay for me to go to 68k school. So know I'm waiting for them to get the approval from G8. It has been six weeks now. I'm starting to get worried because it's taking so long. Does any of this sound normal?

All advice welcomed,
Thank You

Yes, you're not alone. What are you getting waived for? There seems to be no set time for waiver requests to go through and come back approved (or otherwise). Some take a few weeks, while others seem to take months.

I had to get a "prior service waiver" to join the Army Reserve. It took seven months! I had no medical issues or law violations either.

All you can really do is follow up with your recruiter.
