Well, today was my physical only part of the MEPS (Over 40 prior service) and it was quite interesting.
Did the underwear olympics and even though I was really worried about the duck walk and walking on the knees, actually did well on that. They did not seperate me and the other PS Over 40's from the IET candidates. Believe it or not, the only ones that had problems were some of the 18 year olds. Veterans must really know how to cover up the soreness and discomfort.
Here at Dallas MEPs, they went off the 26% bodyfat and NOT the IET soldier 30%. I passed at 25%. That was a journey in itself for me having to knock off 20+ pounds in almost 2 months, but I did it and know others can too. Eat better than you ever have and PT, PT, PT. Swim when your legs hurt. If you get tired swimming, hold onto the edge of the pool and keep your legs kicking, or do breast stroke without using your legs to get a great upper body workout. Do things to keep the heartbeat up. Run, walk, swim, bike, hike, stretch, stretch and stretch some more.
Did the EKG (regular kind, not the stress kind) and doc said it was really good. So now, I'm just waiting for the couple of days to get the blood test results. Keeping my fingers crossed on those results and hopefully will have a PULHES of 111111. Hooah!
