The following MOS'S have opened up for fast ship dates. This is unclassified information and subject to change without notification. 11X,13F,15F,15S,15T,25F,74D,88M,91A,91B,91C,91D,91H,91J,92A,92F AND 92G. If you qualify for one of these MOS'S you can apply if you wish to obtain a sooner ship date or change your MOS. Contact your recruiter and fill out a request to renegotiate your contract. It will be forwarded up the chain and you will go to MEPS to renegotiate if it is approved. Hope this information is helpfull. If anyone uses it, let me know how it goes. Again, it is subject to change without notice.

So I submitted my request up and it was approved in less than 1 day! I am going to MEPS tuesday to renegotiate so I can change my MOS and ship sooner. I am shooting for 13F! If you are interested make sure you jump on it before it is over. Good luck!

I gave this list to our Station Commander and he called MEPS and they said these are for Regular ARMY NOT Prior Service that we only have 2-3 options.
Misinformed.....again. So I went to MEPS tuesday morning and here is what happened. Yes, I was offered all those MOS'S on the list but, there is no such thing as fast shipping for prior service. I would of had to give up my January ship date for an April ship date to change jobs. I asked if I could waive WTC to attend full boot camp and the answer was no....again! WTC is booked through March! I was there with another prior service soldier who was there to do his initial enlistment. He was offered all the MOS'S on the list and chose 15S and recieved an April ship date.
I dont believe there is rhyme or reason to what determines whats available and when you will ship. I re-enlisted on Fri the 24(1 week ago)after 13 years of being out. Prior MOS was 75B (PAC, S-1, Chairborne) so after Physical and lunch and waiting I got called in. The guidance counsler asked me "what do you want" I replied either my old MOS, which is now 42L (admin) or I was also interested in 19K... He makes a call and asks the guy on the other end of the phone "19K available" and I was offered 19D (Cav Scout) or 19K (M1 Armor Crewman) He said "thats it" trying to call his bluff, I said "how about Infantry?" he replied "nope, all I got is 19D or 19K" It's almost like available jobs change by the minute. Otherwise he would have a sheet of paper in front of him that he would hand you and say "there you go, pick one." I can also tell you line scores dont matter 'unless they are too low' because my GT was 118 and all i got were 2 choices and neither are listed on this MILPER report.... Take from this what you will.... But I am extremely happy with my 19K choice and I got a ship date to WTC on Sept. 3rd. just a short month away. Ahhhh it feels good to once again belong to the greatest fighting force on the planet...And it's going to feel even better from a seat on the most fearsome fighting vehicle on the battlefield... The M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank...
I believe you are right, everything seems to change on a daily basis when it comes to jobs being offered to prior service. For those enlisting now though, at least you get some choices. When I enlisted July 2nd, all I was offered (with high asvab scores) was 11X.
I agree with you. There are so many stories and Recruiters do not know what is going on at the Meps level. I was glad to see you went back and tried. So those MOS options are open then as of now.
As you can see I am Prior Navy and I was a Mess Cook in the Navy so at my age now, I am sorta leaning toward 92G...You have it on the list. So you do remember seeing it be offered? Wonder what that ship date is?
Good Luck with your coming back and thanks from all the Priors for your info of help!!!

Dude that is awesome! 19K is exactly what I want! What is your rank? I'm currently an E-6 in the Navy. I wonder if i could keep my pay grade and get that MOS too. I have to wait till I get back from Afghanistan before I can go to MEPS and see what they offer. My recruiter told me that grade waivers havent been coming back approved for E-6's but if I can get 19K I would seriously consider losing one stripe! Congrats again man!
Hey Navy, every MOS on that list was available, but that was tuesday. I do not know when you plan on enlisting at MEPS, but I am sure things will change by then. If you are set on getting 92G I am sure the odds will be in your favor. They seemed to have open the flood gates for prior service MOS'S. Good luck. As far as ship dates go, that will depend on when you enlist and the first available WTC slot. I was with a guy that was prior service tuesday and he recieved an April ship date. You never know though. Seems like USAREC likes to keep us guessing.

Thanks for the note....I am waiting dearly for MEPS to get a medical record from St Louis to prove my discharge from 10 years ago. Have a cleared physical just need an RE waiver. Hop it comes soon and thanks for inside on 92G.
You guys good luck and may our paths cross one day...

It seems to me, from what I have read on these forums, that active duty transitions have priority on WTC dates. After all they should, they are still active duty. Don't quote me on that though, just an observation.
I asked about Active Duty at MEPS Friday, the counselor did not sound very hopeful. Army needs truck drivers. I was there trying to finalize a Reserve contract, so it may have been in context "Great, now you want Active?"
Take that as it is.
Second, in getting things worked out, glitch showing a 3 on the "P" of PUHELS where there shoudl have been a 1 (Low HDL coholestrol level waiver) -- it looks like I will not be keeping e-5 (SGT, USMC out in '96).
So although I appreciate the optimism, and hope some rains on me my next Hopefully final trip to MEPS, I really think that it is a "sellers" market at this point.
My train of thought going in: "prior Marine SGT, RE-1, maxed ASVAB, 4-year degree, good credit, no tickets... Dang, I am a prime candidate!"
has changed dramatically to: "What are the Army's needs today?"
Again, I have been following your updates and appreciate your input. It has helped me out. Just sharing my observations as you have shared yours.
