My waiver has been processed, MEPS asked for my Corporals Course certificate last week and then delayed my MEPS appointment until Thursday because they needed a few extra days to process the waiver. Should I be waiting on an approval even if MEPS requested more documentation and more processing time?
I'm PS Army, and since I've never heard of the Corporals Course, you must have come from USMC? If that's the case, I'm not sure how that waiver works. I do know it all depends on needs of the Army and how long you've been out & job in the service. Probbably did not answer your question very well, sorry. Check with your recruiter, he/she should be able to answer better.
PS Rank Waiver Update: Today I was tasked by my recruiter with finding my DD214 "Long Form". Until today, I had never heard of the "Long Form". I have a couple of different DD214s from my initial four years of active duty and then for my one year activation for Iraq. Well... luckily I never turned in my Service Record Book. I was able to find the "Long Form" DD214 that is needed for me to keep my rank. I am greatful that I am getting to keep my rank (supposedly) and I will do what it takes to stay an E-6, but every day there is something new to send Recruiting Command. I would have thought that there would be a wealth of knowledge in their hands on what is needed for processing a PS guy/gal.
Hopefully this indecisivness is coming to a head. I am going down to MEPS tomorrow afternoon for the ASVAB. Friday (if all goes as planned) I will be swearing back in. I will give all og the juicy details when I can.
It only took my recruiter a day to process my rank/grade waiver. I only need to give him my DD214 and promotion warrant and an official college transcript. I was worried that I would lose my Sergeant rank but everything turned out fine. I guess it was easy because I EASed/ETSed August 2006.
