well I was at my recruiter's station for Future Soldier Training an I think I did pretty good. I ran one mile in 7:55, 61 push ups in a minute, an 35 sit ups in a minute. I leave for ft sill apr 28th so I just have to continue practising my run an sit ups.

Great Job, especially on the pushups! I go tomorrow for the 1-1-1 test. I am curious to see how I do also.

yeah let me know how you do Mr. T. My strategy was to go as fast as I could in proper form. I still have some work to do with the sit ups when it comes to the 2 2 2 an running.

anyone else have some stats before they go to WTC?

my 1 1 1 7:05, 35, 35. I have some work to do before I go but I have time. I have 2 more drills before I have to go and will be working out everyday before then. When we did PT on Sunday at drill, I ran with the "fast" group. I did not think it was too bad and was ready to do more but others were puking and we had to turn around for some of them because they started walking. I am 12 years older than most of them.

some people are really good with running while others like me just have to work on it. if you continued on that run pace that's pretty damn good. as far as the push ups an sit up, treat it like a work out, don't exhaust your muscles by working out everyday

I have always been alright with running, it is just the upper body I need work on. For some reason I always do better when I am doing a PT test than when I am at home. So at home I always get frustrated and usually not as motivated. Thanks for the advice. I think I will start doing everyother day run and everyother day pushups, situps and pullups. I have been trying to do everything everyday.

check out hundredpushups.com it's has a pretty decent work out program. an the same goes for the sit ups. basically training them to get stronger, thus doing many more than you would've ever thought you'd do.

I started the 100 pushups program this week. I changed it up a bit today. I hit the swimming pool and did 2 laps between each set of pushups in the program...then jumped in the hot tub for a few mins. Felt like a real good workout.

Also, every hour or two when I get a chance, I will just drop and do 20 p'ups.

I thought for the test we had to run the full two miles at the recruiters station. What is with the one mile deal? I think I missed something and appreciate the info.

Well in order to leave for BCT or WTC all you need to leave for MEPS is your 1 1 1, BUT, if you have an outstanding recruiter that actually cares about you an your achievements, you would be encouraged to complete 2 2 2. just make sure you're able to pass before you leave, from what I've read you'll be glad you could

Sie...I am in the national guard and every month before I go to WTC we have RSP drill. Everybody is required to do the 1 1 1. I did 1 1 1 for the first drill just to see where I was. In April and May I will do the full 2 minutes and the 2 mile. My goal is to be at 270 before I leave for WTC. Plus I did not realize we could volunteer for the full test because they only called out a couple of people to do it.

Ah good to know, thanks. I'll stick with counting on a 2 2 2 just to be on the safe side. I still need to work on my two mile. The real issue is the shin splints I have so we'll see if I can get over it.

Shinsplints are a b**ch! if you work on those muscles enough without the strain of running they will gradually get stronger. try randomly doing 3 sets of 20 heel raises. that's when you go up on your toes an back down. that will strengthen your shins. Also before a run spend a few minutes stretching your shins TRUST ME it helps! continue working on your 2 mile. also if you have access to an elliptical at a gym or a friend work on that so you get your wind up an no impact on your feet. remarkable results if done properly. PM me for more info

best thing for shin splints is preventative: don't run on concrete!

Make sure you take care of Shin splints. I read on here that somebody did not let the cadre know about the pain and ended up bringing her leg in 2 places, during combatives.

Is 'don't run on concrete' the same for don't run on asphalt? They make you run on asphalt from what I understand constantly.

I ship for WTC April 21 and have to take my 2-2-2 pft this monday. My recruiter requires the 2-2-2 to ship. but with my age its only 25 push ups 30 sit ups and two miles @ 19:30. the first mile I do in 8:25 then die the last mile. but I still come in under time. AT MEPS I thought I'll have a few months befor I'll ship. But no they gave me 13 days to get ready. I wanted to get my time down to at least the 27 Years old times. Violin

Need to work on my 2-2-2. The situp and pushup are no problem, but my run needs alot of work.

first run (last week) was 30 min, due to me being out of breath (moved to new state and altitude is higher). ran yesterday and got it to 24 min. Any suggestions on how to increase the speed quicker? Run twice a week, bike three times a week (maybe 4). Due to the weather, cant go out as often as i like, so i stick with the indoor bike.

thanks
