100 MPH tape and 550 cord, man WTC is not that serious. They will give you sunblock and bug spray. Not the old cheap army stuff either. Bullfrog 50 spf and OFF. I don't think we ever needed 100 MPH tape. Just remember everything you take you will have to carry with you where ever you go along with all the stuff you are going to get issued to you as well. WTC is easy and I wouldn't worry to much about the 100 MPH tape...LOL Good luck

I am new to the Guard, and scheduled for WTC in early March 09. My recruiter has told me to only bring the hygiene kit and a couple of changes of civies. I have been in my unit 3 months and have some ACU's and a partial TA-50, should these be brought to WTC?

Yeah, that is great for WTC maybe, I don't know since I am shipping from 95th (reception battalion at Ft Sill which is required before WTC)
OTC drugs to include headache med's, vitamins, cold medicine. All these are supposed to be thrown in the contriband (trash) when you check in at the 95th. Bring those things at your own peril. No aerosols, tobacco is fine, but only get to use it from 1800-1830 to 2100. Sounds like three hours, but we have a formation some time around 2045 and 2100 then back to the barracks and lights out 2200 but NO smokin' after 2100.

Foot Powder
note pad
550 Cord
baby wipes
Gerber is a weapon and is NOT ALLOWED AT 95th that is contriban and must be disposed of! ! !
mouth guard is fine
2 locks with 2 keys or combo
don't know what the mirror is about
NOT electric shaver DISPOSIBLEs, more can be purchased while here
hand sanitizer is posted all over the place, but I have not seen anything that says we cannot have it here
NO VITAMINS
PREPARATION H is contriban at 95th and has to be disposed of before WTC
the rest of this stuff is common sense and is okay at 95th.

YOU WILL BE AT 95th BEFORE WTC FOR AT LEAST 1 WEEK IF NOT LONGER.

PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU NEED TO, BUT I AM HERE RIGHT NOW AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE ALLOWING AND NOT

AT THE 95TH RECEPTION BATALLION

DID I MENTION THAT THIS IS NOT WTC BUT RECEPTION BATALLION????????

You will most likely NOT be going to AIT after WTC since you are AG. NO EXTRA CIVIES, every thing you bring you will be having to carry, travel light.

NO UNIFORMS NEED to be brought with you, you are issued uniforms here.

Did I mention NOT to bring extra CIVIES or UNIFORMS! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

So, DanHunter, If I am understanding you correctly we cannot have ANY OTC meds, beit it ibuprofen or Tylenol on us when arriving at 95TH reception?? It was my understanding from reading posts on different threads that these items were allowed....unless you just buy them at the PX after you arrive?

Please advise. Thanks!

I'm prior service Army going into the Georgia guards, the recruiter I am talking to said that I am not going to W.T.C, that the program is for prior other service branche's. I would love to go to get my military bearing back, not that I've lost it all. Also planning on reclassing to 11B, would I need to go to Ft.Benning for that or do the guards send you to a in State MOSQ course, I would much rather go to Benning and get my cord that way, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Most doctor provided are okay, must be in date, and approved by command. Ceasar just may be right about the Vicodin though! ! !

I am sure that is up to the command.

Vicodin, man I don't know about that. Thats a pretty heavy perscribtion to take with you, most likely will make you get rid of it, thats just my opinion and guess. I wouldn't even bring if I were you.

Do you have to wear what's issued to you or can you wear what you bring and what's issued? (underwear)

Well if you get CAUGHT wearing other than what is issued, you can get an article 15, your battle buddies can get into trouble for not looking out for each other, because you are NOT a team player. So do what you can afford to do.

We had someone who tried to skip changing socks after pt. White to green. We were up in the bay when SSGT M... asked if everyone was in the correct uniform then made us all remove pants. Catching one person with white socks in and ACU'S. This person was humiliated in front of everyone. People are not understanding when you embarass the whole bay in front of Cadre. Don't chance it. Details are the point of training.

Use common sense when calling out others by name... OPSEC!!!
