My goal is to score 75 or more in each event either way but I would still like to know which one it is.

I don't know why this keeps getting misunderstood. Going to AIT...50% / Going to your unit...60%

Regardless of what anybody tells you, that is the way it goes here at Fort Sill, OK. Trust me, I work here, I grade your PT test, I ensure you have AIT or UNIT written on your PT card to ensure we know what standard to grade you on. I don't mean to seem irritated but that question has been answered literally over 100 times. Not your fault, Quaymar, but people put out bad info and don't really know the right answer.

Thank you Drill Sergeant! I guess consolidating all the questions into this thread will help eliminate repeat questions like this one.

Hello, I am wondering about the dental process at WTC, is there any dental work actually done, or is there just xrays taken?

If you are in need of dental work, will you be a holdover in order to get it done, or can you wait until you get to your duty station?

I question Soldiers asking about dental work needing done, or any medical proceedures while training. (Soldiers don't take offense... it's just a common problem causing you to be delayed, or found unfit to train.)

WTC is designed to get you up to speed on skills and training tasks so that you survice the first 100 days of combat, and know what IET Soldiers learned in BCT.

It's not for free medical care. If you arrive with prior existing medical problems... you may find yourself being discharged. If your dental issue is a small concern... YOU MAY have time to get that work done, but the training is the priority.

While inprocessing, you will have a medical/dental screening to establish you're fit for training. If you need some type of work completed before entering the training pipeline, you may find yourself delayed and not shipping with the rest of your buddies.

Twiggy77 - If you're Active... they will do minor work, but this could delay your training. If it needs to be done, the dental exam will let you know.

Thanks for the reply....I know I am in need of getting some dental work done, but I would rather wait until I get to my duty station(I am Active) in order to get this done, I DO NOT want to be delayed in my training, and my teeth do not bother me, I was just wondering if they would make it MANDATORY to do dental work, thus making me a holdover, which i do not want.

Twiggy... being that your active, and if it's bad... they will do the minimum required to get you through the training, and you can follow up at your next assignment. Only dental can make the call once they've checked you out. Just go with the flow and remain concentrated on the course once you get started.

numbers-you will get a full issue when you arrive. BOOTS and all. If your boots are already broken in, bring them. You will still get two pair of boots here. Remember everyone...the more you bring---THE MORE YOU HAVE TO CARRY!

ok this probably a stupid question but i'd rather be on the safe side. ok i know we get issued all of our uniforms. but i am going to be in the 16jan class. and from what i have seen in weather from the past it's pretty cold up there seeing i'm from hawaii and getting a hold of thermal underwear is impossible here. do i get issued some or can i but some from PX? also are we gonna get issued a bag like a a-bag or a c-bag to take everything home or should i bring an extra bag? thanks for you patience in answering these questions.

Good question. I did buy thermal underwear to take with me already since I checked the weather and see that it's normally in the 30's in Jan.

It would be just my luck if they do issue them and I wasted money. Well...not really, I'm sure that I will get my money's worth out of them eventually.

Google and look at the Army G-1 page, go to the link in the UPPER left corner "SOLDIERS", then go to the link in the middle of the page labeled "UNIFORM POLICY". NOW pay SPECIAL attention to one of the messages that states the ONE TIME REIMBURSEMENT for RUNNING shoes. The OTHER message breaks down WHAT you will get issued. And yes you will get issued a DUFFEL BAG. Bring a coat and gloves with you for the cold months. The first couple of hours BEFORE you get issued your uniforms you MAY be allowed to wear it.

New! - FY09 Clothing Replacement Allowances to the Uniform Policy and FY09 Clothing Bag(FOUO) as of 02 October 2008

I am a 43 y/o female returning to Active Duty after a 15 year break. I have been working out and am confident I can pass all aspects of the APFT test. However, I ship on Jan. 14 for the Jan. 23 WTC course. With 9 days at reception, will there be organized PT? If not, is there a place I can run every day to keep up my pace. It is my weakest area and am concerned with a long lapse? Also, if I pass the PT test my first week, do I still have to take more in week 3 or 4?
