Originally posted by mami1087: I am thrilled to find this message board, after spending 3 years in the USAF Reserves I've decided to better my career and my family's life by going active duty army. I have a ton of questions.
1. How would joint spouse assignments work? My husband is AD USAF and hes stationed here at Edwards AFB, the nearest Army post is Ft. Irwin but I have seen some Army troops out here at Edwards. 2.What is the physical fitness like at WTC? Does anyone have a link to a up to date height weight, sit ups push ups and 2 mile run? 3. How soon should I expect to get orders to WTC & AIT?
Thanks for answering, I'm sure I'll have more!
1-Up to your Branch. You may not be assigned there if your MOS is not there. 2-Google is your friend, I don't know off hand the actuall AR/reg...your recruiter does. 3- there is no telling. be prepared to ship within 6 months.
Is there a lag between WTC classes? Posters here reference November dates then April. The recruiter I spoke to doesn't have much knowledge on WTC - I get much better and accurate info here. If there is, will someone please share the reason for it?
Thank you.

I leave this sunday and ship (nov 2) My ait school isn't until January 19 so after I graduate wtc witch is december 4th or something I guess i'll have some leave time in between. But I heard they might send you to your school a little earlier.
I know your felling DH is at WTC now grads on Nov 25. Ordes say hes to report to AIT Ft. Benning Jan 11 Whats up with that. I asked the recuiter He said I DON'T know.
I've found the recruiters here know a little about Prior Service, but not alot. Most of that is because a bulk of the work is handled at MEPS from the Career Counselor. The other thing is that PS rules seem to abb and flow. Some say PS Marines do have to go to WTC, but my local recruiters say no. I've been out for 12 years and they STILL are telling me "No. You won't go." There are just inconsistencies in the information that's currently available.
Would anyone know why Army headquarters would need an arrest report from 1998, when I served in the Air Force from 2001 to 2005 and the Air Force Reserve from 2006 to 2008? I have given a statement of the incident and the court report that dismissed the case and they still want this report, that from all sources tell me does not exist anymore. They have denied my exception to go forward without the report. So, does anyone have a suggestion on where to go from here, should I just give up or am I being fed a line of crap from the recruiter?
If they need it to process you or workup a security clearance, why not call the agency who did the original arrest and get a copy? I doubt a law enforcement agency trashed an arrest report.
They said they aren't required to keep it after 10 years, plus they misplaced records after hurricane Katrina and if they do exist they are in storage with no way to know in what unit, box ect...
Recruiters can see your criminal history record. They probably want details from the cops and not just take your word for what happened. Take it up the chain of command at the recruiter's office. Maybe the arresting agency can write a letter stating what happened to the report.
The recruiter says it's Army recruiting headquarters that is requesting the report, because it's part of their checklist, but if the report no long exists, why would they not take a letter from law enforcement explaining that the report is no longer on file or required to be on file. I'm at a loss for what to do. How can I be held back if I never did anything, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? I have a court record of the case being dropped, what else could they possibly determine from and arrest record of a dropped case? Makes no sense...
If HQ won't accept a letter stating the report hasn't been retained by the department, I don't know what else to tell you. Unfortunately, I'd say you're out of luck.
And "innocent until proven guilty" only applies in the criminal courts...
Well now it's guilty until proven innocent by review of non-existent information. I'm workin on contacting the FBI since they got my fingerprints somehow, they must have some info to go along with them. I'm sure i'm not the only person this is happening to or the last that will go through it, so if my process helps anyone else, it was worth typing it out. I contacted my local justice court, county clerk, sheriff's dept, still working with the DA's office, but they seem to be of no help. I have been told by city cop that I could request a Freedom of Information Act on myself, not sure if it will help, but it's worth a shot. I swear, the lengths we go to to get yelled at and run around and do push ups! At least no one can say I didn't try.
