Hey I wanted to say hello to all of my friends, and fellow battles here on this board. I am in Georgia at Hunter AAF with EmtAngelWings....(Angela. Thing are really busy right now as we are deploying in less than a month. I am looking forward to getting there and getting to work. I have been helping get my soldiers ready. It really makes you think when over 3/4 of my squad is under 20. They are a good group. Oh and I found out last week that I will be a grandfather while I am over there. My daughter just found out she is due in May. Wish me luck with that. Damn Kids...LOL
Well you folks need to keep the faith and never let go of your dreams.
SSG Thompson are you stationed at Hunter AAF? Reason I ask is I was thinking of putting it down as one of my requested duty stations and wondered how it was around the base, housing and things for the family. Thanks for anything helpful,I will be going in as 15r,t,u.
LRFJr, Hunter is nice. It is in Savannah and the whole are is beautiful. Lots of things to do in the area. Depending upon what rank you are housing options are very much open. BAH is higher here due to the cost of living. I think for an e-4 BAh is around 1100 (you can look it up)a month which the average rent payment is about 1000. Lots of rentals....base housing has a waiting list. The base is pretty small but Ft. Stewart is just half an hour away if you really need anything. I wish you the best feel free to ask anything else and I would be glad to help.
