In light of the news from the "WTC" Caution Post it would be great to know at what week per MOS we join the IET Platoons. Any info would be great! Knowing in advance what we have in store helps us plan.
Nothing is set "in stone". According to other posts on here and speaking to OSUT grads on here, we are "supposed" to enter OSUT at week seven. It seems to me,and I expected this, the Army (like the Marines) does what ever they want with you when ever they want. To meet the needs of the Army. Either way, it is something you and I will face when we get there. The one unchangeable certainty is that nothing is unchangeable or certain (JFK). I will keep you updated because, as of this moment, I will go through OSUT before you, if you go Infantry, but hey, you never know. Good luck and see you in the desert.
Thanks for the no Sh**er. Your a straight shoot and I will be glad toserve with you in the desert or anywhere. 23 ponds lost. 6 to go. run,run,run-eat almost nothing. That's my secret.
That is funny, I am in the same boat. I got rid of that last six pounds once and they snuck back in on me. So, now I am on that same run, run, run and eat nothing diet too. I am going to lose 10 more now though, just to be safe. Ironically, my son is trying to join the Guard and he has to gain 15 pounds....too funny.
I'm working on the last 6 lbs. I have to lose the 6 before I can sign. 196 lbs 5'11. Tape 39 waist at recruiter=40 waist at MEPS. Neck 16.5. I missed it at MEPS last time by an eighth of an inch. I can't wait to go. Now unemployed and driving the wife+kids nuts.
Good luck and hope you lose them quick. I do not know personally but, my cousin went from active to reserve and hates it. He also said he could not find a full time job as a reserve. Not even an instructor position. I do not know what your goals are but, good luck and hope you reach them soon.
