I have been reading this board for months now. It has inspired me when i needed it. Some bio on me...

30 year old, Prior navy. Got tired of civilian life and wanted back in. Only one problem. I weighed a whooping 280 pounds. That was in Febuary. Today I weighed in at 223 pounds and i am at 25%. So one more percent and I am shipping to WTC soon. I want the quickship bonus of 20k. I should be going to meps next week. If your reading this and think you cant make it, STFU and get out and run and quit eating that freaken Double quarter pounder with cheese and you will get there.

Good luck all

No magic pill is out there.

Keep your body guessing. Low on Carbs, i have not eaten a potatoe in months. Mostly chicken broccoli, asparagas. And PT PT PT PT PT,...did i say PT. You must work out 1 hour to 2 hours a day. Cardio 30 to 60mins and Strenth train for the rest. The more muscle you have the more your metabilism will burn the fat.

I starved once or twice a week. This lessened my overall calorie entake on a weekly basis. You will have days that you pigged out, just get back on the wagon and it goes away in a week. I was at 245 for about 39 days. So you will hit platues, just mix it up. Bike, swim run. Lift I do chest and legs alot. Never do a sit up EVER!!! Reason is your muscles in your stomach expand and push out the fat, thus making your tape mesurment bigger. You can train in sit ups after you make tape at meps. 2 weeks of sit ups after meps should make your pt test.

Also take an appietite suppressant. That helps on the starve days.

Good luck,

Email me if any other advice needed sdhart61@gmail.com

I have lost 100 pounds starting in December no secret diet. Just got off my *** and started working out and eating right.

Gave up Soda & Beer! Yes Beer!

Low Carbs (Very Low).

Drink only Water.

PT Every Day (Started slow and worked up).

Use meal replacement Shakes (Powder) Mix with water or low fat milk.

Family support helps a lot

You are right pills and fads will not work at all a life change is what is needed!! Most of the people here have done that and are well on the way.

I will be taking my physical this Friday and hope to sign contract shortly after that and be on my way to (WTC) then AIT (MP School)

Good Luck and keep up the good work. I would suggest the fasting drinks or (Hollywood Diet) $20.00 for 48 hrs. I did that diet about every other week just to jump start or shock my system it works for me.

Again good luck and keep it up!! Beer

P.S. I hope to have a beer and steak (Thick) this weekend at my sisters after my physical. BEER!!!!!! Beer Beer And (Fosters) in the big blue oil can!!

lost 60 since Dec...

How tall are you sdhart61? My routine and experience is similar to yours...no magic pill or mix, just a lifestyle change, good eating habits and a pt run everyday.

I am 71 inches Tall and have busted my tail feathers to loose the weight. Gave up everything I liked to get back in shape. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but my Wife and I were trying to have another Baby for the longest time she being 7 yrs younger then me. We have a 9 yr old boy now.

I thought she had a kidney stone the other day and ran her to the ER. She did have a stone but we also found out she is about 3-4 weeks pregnant. I swear its because I started getting back in shape again to go into the Army! "Army Strong"! That life change benefits keep rolling in and hope my lucks hold Friday at MEPS for my phyiscal!!

Congrats ajslds on the news of the baby. Applause Maybe you'll have to name him or her MEPS. J/K Having three boys and one in college you better invest that 20k in a mutual fund. I think the biggest raise I ever got was when they got off formula and out of diapers
All of ya's talk of working out is really encouraging. Thanks for the motivating points.

How did you get the ok to go at 24%? 600-9 states that Prior Service must be 22% to enter the Army. 24% is for IET. I would check before you head off the MEPS. Somebody has some wrong info unless I'm missing something about your post.

Just a heads up.

Done with meps, Waiting on 2 Waivers. Dual Military and RE-code waiver. So I should be signing by end of the week or next.

Word to the wise, "If you have been out more than a year your Weight Standards and BF, revert back to Initial entry requirements."

for me that is 28% BF, I could have joined months ago if i had known that. The recruiters seem clueless to this. Meps employees is what told me and scored me that way accordingly. Have your recruiters research it, you could be in sooner.

email me for more info sdhart61@gmail.com

Whoa, Whoa, Slow down. I Have been sitting here for about a year now waiting, Praying, Working my ever lovin' Behind off for this? I am missing out on a $20,000 bonus for this?

I Lost amost 110bs, Quit smoking, and improved my run time, And all this time I could have already shipped?

It's 6 hours until the recruiters office opens, Guess who's getting a call.

There has to be more to the story, Like if your going to BCT it reverts, but if your going to WCT it dosen't.
