Well it's been one year today so I called my recruiter(the station commander E7), and he said they have been trying to contact me since last week. He stated that Meps had contacted them and told them they set up a consult for this past Monday. Well I never got any word so today being the one year I called and he said they want me in by 30 Sep ( in the Army)Woohoo!!! Sorry,I'm so pumped. I will go see him in about one hour, I just wanted to share the good news with all of you who have kept me going since May. Could anyone shed some light on what may be involved in this consult? The recruiter stated this would be the verdict, either yes or no.Can I get some pointers,or is this going to be one of those meetings that the look at the paperwork and ignore me and just say okay it's been one year your good to go. Well I'm off to see the recruiter, I will let you all know what they say when I get back.
It should be, I had torn labrum along with some instability. The doctor did a procedure called Bankart stabalization,he basically tied it together.Thats why I had to wait the year from date of surgery. I went and spoke with the recruiter, he said they would try and schedule another consult as quick as possible. He also stated my ship date would be up to me, as long as the class dates work together. But they want me to swear in by the end of the month.I've been waiting for this for about 5 months and it's finally here.I know I still have the consult to go through, and then they will still have to resubmit the med waiver, but he said that should come back in one day, right now they are pushing through lots of waivers he said. He said I should have no problem getting sworn in by the end of the month. If that happens I will most likely ship as quick as possible, get my Army life rolling. Anyone have tips or advice on things to get done before shipping(family wise, etc)? Besides the ID cards.
My ortho consult went like this: squat in the corner and duck walk, then standing he stood behind me and bent me forward/backwards and to each side (with some force I might add). Then he told me to touch my toes, reach for the sky and then lie down. He took my legs, pushed them to what seemed next to my ears and then moved it in all directions with lots of pressure (to see if I felt pain I guess) Did some knee checks with the little hammer and that was it.
20 minutes, he asked some questions afterwards. He told me right then that he was clearing me and I made a copy of it for myself due to the last trip's paper mixup. Good luck & stretch before going !
Well talked to the recruiter and my consult is Oct3, so it looks like I won't be making swear in by the months end. But thats okay the ball is rolling and I now have a date and time.Maybe I can still make the Oct15 WTC class.
