I'm supposed to be out of the Navy in March of 2008. I have to get this stinkin DD form 368 routed and signed by my C.O.C. so I don't end up with a huge gap in pay. My c.o.c is not exactly being cooperative about it let alone have a clue what to do with it. I want to go for the WOFT program as soon as I can when I cross over. So I'm praying like hell that An Aviation Maintenence MOS will be available when I get to meps (my asvab afqt that I recently retook was 84). My recruiter seems moody, I just got off the phone with him because I wanted to ask him where I may be going for WTC once I get this red tape sorted out, and he seemed irritated that I called im. I hope he was just havein a bad day, cuz I gotta deal with this guy when or if I get that 368 signed. I'm an E-5 right now. My father is a retired Army SSG, so I know Army rank Identification. I know you have to follow the orders of your superiors. When I went through boot I just STF up, and didn't say anything unless I had to. I just did what I was told, and did the thousand yard stare when I got yelled at, or had my uniform "adjusted". So why they would have to yell at us and talk to us like we're fresh outta high school, I'm not sure. It seems like all they should have to do is bring you up to speed on Army Uniform regs, Army Customs, and How the Army coc and paerwork is done, and PT the hell out of us that are coming from other branches to bring us up to Army PFT standards.

Here's what I don't know...
Being here in WA state, where will I be going to WTC (or which one might I be going too). Will they PT us regularly before the PFT, or will they just say pass this or your out. Will we get any leniency since we have been through the melodrama and mind games already. What should I pack(they Navy wanted us to use their toothbrushes etc) so I had to throw half of the hygene supplies I had out the window. will we have any kind of holiday routine in between the daily go go go!? And will they at least show you how the uniform aka berret is worn before they just chew your #$% off? And last but not least, Drill and Marching, I havent had to do drills or marchin in like 7 years, I know the whole left face, about face, forward march, dress right dress etc. But c'mon at least run us through some practice and demo before just throwin us in the water. Will we have any privilages that the basic booter doesn't get, other than a shorter stay? Any info on this whole process will be much appriciated. And I thank you for taking the extra time out of your already busy schedule to answer these questions on this forum in advance. This thing I'm about to do makes me nervouse.

btw, will I need to do awhole new physicalwhen I process over, even though I'll probhably have to do a seperation physical before I cross over to the green.

Why don't you apply directly for the Army Warrant Program? You know you can do that, don't you?
Also, what is your Rate and why did you take the asvab again?

Because you will be going through with a lot of different people from different services and it's better not to assume you all know your heads from a hole in the ground and are squared away.

I tried to Apply directly for the WOFT program, but my command was PO'ed and since they couldn't not route it up the chain etc, and really didn't know what to do with everything I put in my packet, they stalled me till I missed my window. Kicked it back 4 or five times for petty things (long story). Either way, The nearest Army base is about 2 or 3 hours away. Makes it hard to get the reccomendation letters and advice on the other paperwork when u only have 3 to 4 months left. I'm just prayin that I can get the 368 to go enlllisted, otherwise I'm going to have to get totally discharged first. And enter from the outside.

btw, I am a Master-AT-Arms = Navy version of MP for 4 years.
but before that I was a Plane Captain = crew chief for EA-6B for about a year and a half, then I struck an bacame an AZ = Aviation Maintenence Administrationsman for 3 years.
