Down and dirty: got kicked out of a commissioning program late into it and ordered on to EAD. Still want to be a part of the military (hoping to Retrain into 4N via Reserves at the moment), but, more so, I want to go to Medical School. I know the Air Force has the HPSP and what not, but Im not counting on being able to do that since I've already been kicked out of a commissioning program and I know it'll be an uphill battle trying to get into another one---especially one as competitive as that.
I plan on putting myself through school, but wonder if joining the Reserves / Guard would mess with that? Im leaving AD in December, and would probably aim to start school year after next (Fall 2011).
Recruiter has given me the answer that I wanted to hear---that it wouldn't be an issue, but was wondering if it could actually end up being an issue? What if I can't get into a school in my state, and end up on the other side of the country? Am I just pretty much SOL? To that extent, Im also thinking the Reserves are the better option as my recruiter tells me its easier to switches bases (compared to Guard) if I need to...
I guess Im really just hoping there some program that I dont know about? The AF seems to be pretty accommodating for these sorts of things typically, but if I've learned anything its that when Airmen plan, the Air Force laughs.
Thanks!
