I am active duty af looking into transfer into af guard or reserves. i am a ssgt and will have almost 8 years when i do the transfer and i am going to try and cross train into security forces. my questions are....
-depending on the base, is there usually any type of active positions for this afsc (i want to be at a base in NC)
-does anyone have any info on deployments, i like going just want to know what to expect
-if a taditional member, do you usually do any type of OJT after tech school

any info will be helpful thanks

Full time positions may be available within the AGR or ART program. You will need to first check with the bases in the area you want to go. For starters you will probably have to settle for a traditional position then apply for the ART or AGR positions as they come available. Same thing with the deployments. Every unit has a different OPs tempo.
When you finish tech training there are many units that will provide seasoning training. However, that can be impacted by the unit's available funds.
