When I spoke with my recruiter he told me I had to turn 42 in basic, I am 41 and turn 42 in March. Now reading on Military.com it is saying the age is 42 not 41. Does anyone know if it is now 42? Thanks!
Cannot reach your 42nd birthday is the last I knew for the Army National Guard. Try the forum over in the Army section, as the Air Guard in this section is 35 years of age cut-off.
Good luck and hope it works out, thanks for considering serving, it is well worth it!
Thanks for the information. I talked to my recruiter and if I can get into basic before I turn 42 I'm good to go so we are hurrying up the process. Hopefully I'll be able to do that. I'm very excited and look forward to it!
I think personally if a person is in great physical and mental shape that age should not matter.
Does the Air Guard use the magic number as the Air Force Reserves? I'll be 38 when I ETS from the National Guard, the AF Reserves reduces my age to 28, subtract 10 years of active service in the Army.
