I'm looking to see about becoming a pilot in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. This is my question: as far as being a pilot, will it interfere (ONCE YOU ARE DONE WITH TRAINING AND YOU GET YOUR WINGS) if you a have full time civilian job? Would you have to spend more time training besides the one weekend a month?Currently, I'm an AF Reservist. If you area pilot and work a full time civilian job, please let me know how you work both things at the same time.

Hundreds if not thousands do it.

I am a pilot in the civie world and the two can be challenging at times...but worth it.

Your upfront training commitment will keep you on active duty for approximately the first couple years of service. Almost ALL of the pilots and navigators I have recruited have had a full time civilian job. That goes for both non prior and prior service folks.

All Air Force Reserve pilots are in the reserve (Unless they are an AGR - which means they are still in the reserve).
