My husband is active duty and I am just trying to educate myself on all of this. He is wanting to do an early seperation to go into the Air National Guard. Does early seperation look bad when he would apply for a job if he wasn't able to get a full time position with the guard?
The program you are looking for is called Palace Chase. It does not look bad to employers, to them it looks like you did some active duty time and now you are in the reserves.
His separation from active duty will still be honorable. He has a good chance of being accepted into Palace Chase since the services are looking at downsizing. The only hiccup may be if he is in a short AFSC (meaning they do not have enough people fully man the AFSC).
