Hi I leave for BMT next month and I was wondering what some of you thought was the best time for family (my wife and kid) was to come visit?
Would it be to come for the graduation and then you have those 10 days off before technical school or ideally is it best for them to come maybe midway thru the technical school because Id have the evenings and weekends off?
Read through the BMT--Support for Parents, Wives, and Girlfriends thread with your wife. There's a lot of collected experience there that might help you decide how important it would be for the family to be there for your graduation balanced against the demands on your time that last week of BMT.

Those 10 days off, you are actually working details at your tech school base. They didnt explain that to me very well either. Best time by far is the graduation weekend. The atmosphere and energy is great and you'll regret not having someone there to share it with. Make reservations for family on the base hotel. It's like 1/4 the cost and its very luxurous. ($20-30/night depending how big of a room you want)
You could plan a tech school weekend, but every so often someone(s) will do something stupid on the weekend (underage drinking/driving) and your whole squad will pay the price by not be able to leave base and doing activities as punishment.
