I know it probably varies greatly from one AFSC to another but what is the average time it takes for somone fresh out of Tech School to gain their 5 skill level? Any idea on the 2A field, specifically 2A6X3?

Not sure if upgrade training time changes with AFSC's or not. I know for 2W1's you have 15 months of upgrade training (OJT) from the time you graduate tech school to the time you are eligible for 5 level. Doesn't matter if you have all your skills checked off and your CDC's done, until that time lapses you cannot get your 5 level. Whether or not that time changes I have no clue.

I'm pretty sure the standard is 15 months of OJT for your 5 skill level.

My unit let me go immediately. You just won't be considered officially 5-level until the time 15 month mark.
